Science and Religion II

As the next step in my proceedings on this topic I would like to present the views of a renowned theoretical physicist Albert Einstein.

Einstein was of the view that religion originated because of fear. Fear may trigger the concept of the fear of supernatural elements in your mind. But that just was not the cause. Man never bothered about supernatural elements at first. "With primitive man it is above all fear that evokes religious notions - fear of hunger, wild beasts, sickness, death" was the opinion of Einstein. It is indeed, very true. Man created illusory beings, later renamed as GOD, to be responsible for the happenings. Either birth or death or all situations man faced were thought to be conceived by Him. Thus, the concept of God was born.

Man had always wanted to blame things on someone. We haven't changed till now. We still hold God responsible for our fate, except for the atheists ofcourse. Thus, man created an illusory being called God. To account for this, Einstein says "since at this stage (primitive man) of existence understanding of causal connections is usually poorly developed, the human mind creates illusory beings more or less analogous to itself on whose wills and actions these fearful happenings depend".Thus the concept of God was created. God had been given the human form. Man was not so imaginative to design some other form ;-) .

He wanted to secure their favor to be protective of  him. To secure his favor meant sacrifices or certain actions. This concept was easy. You need to do something to get something. Its not always a one way. It is reciprocative in this world.

Thus the concept of God was born out of fear of the unknown. It is to give courage, believe in what people do, to feel safe and secure that the conceptualization of God happened. This is clearly said by Einstein as "The desire for guidance, love, and support prompts men to form the conception of God. This is the God of Providence, who protects, disposes, rewards, and punishes; the God who, according to the limits of the believer's outlook, loves and cherishes the life of the tribe or of the human race, or even or life itself; the comforter in sorrow and unsatisfied longing; he who preserves the souls of the dead. This is the conception of God.".

As more and more people started believing a group was formed. This group conceived a way of life. A way of life to please God. Thus, people grouped under this conceived way. United under the same principles and ideals groups were formed. These became religions as the groups conglomerated. Thus, a large group having common beliefs forms a religion. Thus religion arrived on the earth.Even today gangs exist only when something is common between its elements.Unity in diversity is possible when there exists common ideologies or beliefs.Religion thus established its footprint with fervor.
